Kaifi Azmi is the founder of Mijwan Welfare Society^[1], an Indian non-profit working on women & children, education and livelihood from Azamgarh.

Started by poet Kaifi Azmi and led by actor Shabana Azmi, the society works in the village of Mijwan to educate and empower girls. It runs schools, skilling and chikankari embroidery livelihood programmes for rural women.
