Children's Book Trust
Children's Book Trust (CBT) was founded in 1957 by the cartoonist Shankar to produce good, well-illustrated and well-designed books for children in India. It publishes across a wide range of subjects and runs competitions in writing and painting for children.
Children's Book Trust reports the following, on its own site:
- Has more than 1,000 children's book titles to its credit, published at deliberately subsidised prices
- Its children's library, opened in 1967, holds a collection of over 45,000 books in English and Hindi for school-going children
