Jyotsna Lall is the co-founders (board list titles) of Gramin Shiksha Kendra[1], an Indian non-profit working on education and rural & agriculture from Sawai Madhopur.
Gramin Shiksha Kendra
Gramin Shiksha Kendra was set up in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, in response to rural communities' demand for quality education. Through its Uday Community Education Programme it works to change how education is understood and delivered in villages, combining direct teaching with community-led change, and it also runs a fellowship programme.
Gramin Shiksha Kendra reports the following, on its own site:
- 500+ children from Uday & Vistaar schools have participated in block, district, state and national level tournaments.
- Nearly 30 children from Uday schools have been selected by Sports Academies.
- 2 Government schools transformed to model schools
- Attendance rates have increased from 40 to 80 % in the past 14 years.
