Flavia Agnes is the founder of Majlis (1991)[1], an Indian non-profit working on women & children and human rights from Mumbai.
Majlis
Majlis is a Mumbai-based nonprofit founded in 1991 by lawyer Flavia Agnes, providing legal representation and psychosocial support to women and children who are survivors of domestic and sexual violence through its Majlis Rahat programme. Its Flavia Agnes Centre for Learning also conducts research and gender-sensitisation training for police and the judiciary.
Majlis reports the following, on its own site:
- On the first day of February 2026, we received a new case from the Child Welfare Committee (Majlis gets an average of 25 to 30 new cases per month).
