FounderFounder of Sambodh
Fehmida is the founder of Sambodh (2007)[1], an Indian non-profit working on education, women & children and livelihood from Ahmedabad.
Sambodh
Sambodh has worked in the Vatva area of Ahmedabad since 2008, where displacement and urban poverty push children out of school after the early grades. Its programmes help children stay in school, train youth — particularly young women — in employable skills, develop women as community leaders and support families in claiming their entitlements.
Sambodh reports the following, on its own site:
- Lives Impacted 5000+
- Women Leaders 120+
- Sambodh’s Community Entitlement Programme, through the Sarjan Mahila Cooperative, empowers women by providing financial support, leadership training, and awareness about their rights. We work with SC, OBC, minority and migrant women — reaching approximately 3,000 women in the field.
