VASCSC was established in Ahmedabad in 1966 by Dr Vikram A Sarabhai, the father of the Indian space programme, to build scientific thinking among students, teachers and the wider public through inquiry-based methods. Working to the motto 'Question, Explore, Discover', it runs hands-on workshops, STEM labs and science activity centres, space science education as an ISRO-registered Space Tutor, teacher training, and develops its own teaching-learning material and a Gujarati science magazine.
