Dr. (Ms.) Armaity Desai is the founder director of Family Service Centre (1955)^[1], an Indian non-profit working on orphans & child care, women & children and livelihood from Mumbai.

Family Service Centre, founded in Mumbai in 1955 by a group of philanthropic women, is one of the city's oldest family welfare agencies. A recognised Indian placement agency for adoption since 1972, it runs foster care, community development in the slums of Colaba and Sion-Koliwada, family counselling and educational sponsorships that keep vulnerable children in school and families intact.
