Chuka Peter Paul is the founder / founder president of The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS) (1978)[1], an Indian non-profit working on women & children, disaster relief and livelihood from Guntur.

The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS) is a registered voluntary organisation founded in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh in 1978, after a cyclone hit the area, to serve vulnerable families. It works to improve livelihoods for children, youth, women and vulnerable people through education, economic, social, health and emergency-relief programmes across Guntur and Prakasam districts. Its founder, social scientist Chukka Peter Paul, led the organisation until his death in January 2023.
The Bharath Abhyudaya Seva Samithi (BASS) reports the following, on its own site:
- More than 250 children benefitting through this schools facilitating free primary education and upper primary education upto7th classes with nutrition meal, uniforms, books to the children.
- At least 80 children successfully completed their primary education in this school were currently at high schools, colleges and Graduation courses currently.
- BASS has been distributed essential food ration kits to 18000 families since April 2020.
- Currently 30 abandoned girls get new life through this program.
