Established in Bengaluru in 1905, Abalashrama is one of Karnataka's oldest women's institutions — a sanctuary that has sheltered and educated destitute women, widows and girls for over a century. Its Basavanagudi campus runs residential care, schooling and vocational training under initiatives like Suraksha, Swavalambana and Saphalya, helping women in need rebuild independent lives.
