Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra
Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra is a Velas-based conservation organisation known for protecting Olive Ridley sea turtle nesting sites on the Konkan coast, an effort that grew into the well-known Velas Turtle Festival. It also runs wildlife-conservation work on birds, pangolins and bats, waste-management projects, and health and education programmes for surrounding coastal villages.
Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra reports the following, on its own site:
