Children's Movement for Civic Awareness
The Children's Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA) is a Bengaluru-based organisation that runs citizenship and life-skills education programmes for children from grade 1 to university, through schools, colleges and rural panchayat libraries. Its programmes include Magic Box socio-emotional learning, Civic Clubs, Multigrade Clubs, My Library for a Better Me and children's village sabhas, run in partnership with state governments. CMCA publishes annual reports and FCRA returns on its website.
Children's Movement for Civic Awareness reports the following, on its own site:
- In 2023-24 CMCA reached over 1.5 lakh children and youth in over 2,000 schools, rural libraries and colleges across six states.
- In 2023-24 CMCA's Children's Village Sabhas programme covered 262 sabhas and 950+ schools, reaching 45,000+ children.
- CMCA's My Library for a Better Me programme ran in 85+ rural libraries reaching 9,500+ children in 2023-24.
