Shramik Bharti

Shramik Bharti is a grassroots development organisation founded in 1986 and based in Kanpur, working with urban and rural communities across several districts of Uttar Pradesh and parts of Punjab. It runs women's self-help groups, natural farming and sustainable agriculture programmes, water and sanitation initiatives, and a community radio station, with a focus on reducing poverty and expanding opportunity for marginalised communities.

• Three decades of work enhancing the choices of over a million people
• 1,663 women's self-help groups with 27,408 women members
• 7 self-managed, self-sustainable SHG federations and 12 farmer producer companies promoted
• 115 community grain banks ensuring food security for marginalized rural households
