Founder

Abodh is the founder and co-founder of Project Potential [1], an Indian non-profit working on livelihood, education and rural & agriculture from Kishanganj.

Abodh is a co-founder and trustee of Project Potential, a non-profit organisation based in Kishanganj district, Bihar, that works on livelihoods, education and social mobility for young people in some of India's poorest districts. He leads the organisation's community activities and contributes field knowledge to its strategy. Project Potential's own team page lists him as co-founder and trustee, and names Zubin Sharma as founder.

Early life and education

Abodh began working in his father's blacksmith workshop in Bihar as a boy. At the age of ten he set up his own street juice stall, and he funded his own schooling and college education. He holds a postgraduate diploma in leadership development from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru.

Career

Abodh met Zubin Sharma in 2012, when Sharma was volunteering in Bihar with Pratham during a gap semester from university. The two went on to establish Project Potential, which works in Kishanganj district in northern Bihar with the stated aim of ending poverty sustainably and inclusively in India's poorest districts and enabling intergenerational social mobility for young people.

At Project Potential he leads the organisation's community activities and brings on-the-ground insight into its strategic decisions.[2][3]

Project Potential

Project Potential works in Kishanganj district, Bihar, on the conviction that a child's birth should not determine where they end up in life. Registered as a trust and operating from its eArthshala campus and a Thakurganj office, it mobilises and counsels young people on career pathways, connects them to skilling, apprenticeship and job opportunities, and works to build a skilling ecosystem in Bihar, alongside programmes in youth leadership, awareness through performance, health and construction.
